3T Superghiaia Handlebar

With the new 3T Superghiaia handlebar, the innovative Italian brand launches a carbon handlebar specifically designed for gravel bikes. The developers at 3T have addressed a relevant safety topic: in the past the flare (lateral outer position of the drop) often affected the ergonomics and accessibility of the brake levers. Despite the pronounced flare of the Superghiaia, the hoods are still aligned correctly and the brakes are easy to reach. SRAM brakes suit the handlebar’s shape best, as the levers are bent slightly outwards. The award team would love to see a version of the Superghiaia for Shimano brakes, ideally allowing you to position the shift/brake lever a little more outwards. A compact drop and a relatively short reach prevent your forearms from hitting against the tops of the handlebar and ensure safe and direct handling when the gravel gets rougher (a perfect balance between stiffness and damping properties also contributes to this). The Superghiaia is also available in a 40 cm-wide version with the same reach and drop but a significantly reduced flare – according to 3T, this is intended to meet the demands of smaller riders who desire a more parallel hand position.
