RLS (Release Layer System) | RLS technology
RLS (Release Layer System) is a novel helmet safety technology designed to reduce rotational forces associated with brain injury. Built with multiple layers that are engineered to separate on impact, it’s designed to redirect and reduce dangerous rotational forces. The magic lies in microscopic spheres between the layers that act like a crumple zone, evenly distributing impact energy. Independent tests by the renowned ICube research center at the University of Strasbourg demonstrated average reductions in peak rotational velocity of approximately 56–66% compared to equivalent helmets without RLS, corresponding to a substantial reduction in estimated brain injury risk. Since the system absorbs the energy, the helmet is deliberately deformed in a crash – no second chances, no second uses. But that’s exactly the point. For riders who demand top-tier protection on trails and tarmac, RLS represents a fresh, forward-thinking approach to head safety – and a bold push for better protection in cycling.
