With the Addict eRIDE Premium, SCOTT have expanded their portfolio with an E-road bike that many will only identify to be a motor-assisted bike at their second or even third glance. The battery is indiscernible in the down tube and the MAHLE Ebikemotion X35+ hub motor is hard to recognise from the side. At 10.9 kg, the Addict eRIDE isn’t just the lightest production E-road bike frame in the world but with its high level of integration, one-piece cockpit, flowing lines of the frame and the beautiful finish, it’s also the prettiest E-road bike on the market. With a Shimano DURA-ACE Di2 groupset and Syncros components, the spec leaves no wishes open with the jury. The assistance modes can be tuned via an app and, combined with a heart rate monitor, the Addict eRIDE allows heart rate controlled training. Compared to other motor systems, the transition at the 25 km/h assistance limit is very natural and hard to notice. Overall, the MAHLE Ebikemotion system fits very well with this sporty E-road bike and contributes to a coherent overall concept. Nonetheless, thanks to a high level of stability and feeling of safety, this E-road bike is well-suited to beginners as well.
