DT Swiss’ new 25-year edition PRC 1100 DICUT 24 25Y wheelset marks a quarter of a century for the Swiss wheel specialists and its featherweight of just 1,310 g makes it the lightest disc brake specific carbon clincher wheelset available. While most super light wheelsets perform incredibly on the climbs, they often lack the necessary handling performance on the descent. Not so with the DT Swiss PRC 1100: it not only let our test riders fly up the steepest climbs but also offered a lot of precision and stiffness on the descents, even under hard braking. The internal spoke nipples are claimed to have a positive effect on the aerodynamics and they ensure a very tidy look. The 36 teeth of the Ratchet EXP freehub allow for immediate engagement while sounding nice and discreet, providing the appropriate musical accompaniment as you weave down mountain passes.
