This is made possible by two innovations: on the one hand, you’ve got the easily removable Smartpac, which contains the battery, motor controller, and a GPS tracker, and on the other hand, you’ve got the Dual Mode Hub, which lets you disengage the motor, thereby getting rid of the added resistance when it’s not in use. This 2-in-1 concept transforms the urban ebike into an analogue bike in a matter of seconds, and vice versa. Brilliant: the separately available Smartpac looks like a small frame bag, and it doubles as a portable USB power bank. Other exciting details include the Auto E-lock, an electronic lock integrated into the rear hub, and a brake light. The jury wasn’t just impressed by the depth of innovation and attention to detail, but also by the clean design of the frame.
