Schwalbe Green Marathon

Cycling just got more environmentally friendly! With their Green Marathon series, Schwalbe are setting the sustainability bar incredibly high. The Green Marathon is the first tire for city and touring bikes that relies on a closed production cycle that reduces pollutants by 98 %. The tires are made of natural, fairly-trade rubber and 70 % recycled or renewable raw materials. The recovered carbon black of the rubber compound is obtained 100% from used bicycle tyres. To make this possible, Schwalbe launched their own recycling program, which allows you to hand in your old tires at one of Schwalbe’s selected dealers. Moreover, the Green Marathon relies on a modern, sporty tread pattern, which impressed our jury with excellent handling characteristics on gravel and tarmac, both in dry and wet conditions. Furthermore, the Green Marathon relies on Schwalbe’s recycled, 3 mm GreenGuard puncture protection insert, which is made of natural rubber and recycled latex.
