A harmonious blend of safety and sustainability: the uvex urban planet LED takes city helmets to a whole new level. It’s produced in-house by uvex in Germany and made from recycled, organic materials. The outer shell, for example, is made of HDPE, which is obtained from sugar cane. Moreover, the uvex urban planet LED features an innovative hardshell system, which combines an injection moulded outer shell and EPS inner shell using a reversible joining technique. The helmet is available in two sizes and four colours. The lining is made of a recycled material and ensures a comfortable fit, while the ratchet closure system on the reflective straps can be easily operated with just one finger. The jury was also impressed by the elegant, clean design, the sophisticated, eco-friendly production technology and the low-impact packaging – a fully-recyclable cardboard box made of grass and waste paper. And that’s not all! Uvex also integrates an LED light at the back of the helmet to ensure good visibility. Spot on for an award!
